I appreciate someone doing research into the problems our People have faced in former research studies. As a MSW student, I agree that the guidelines placed upon MSWs for our deadlines automatically preclude them from acting in a Traditional manner with the People, even those who have been a part of the Culture. The Code of Ethics is written in a Euro-American viewpoint, which has been the dominating viewpoint for 200 years. It does not take into perspective possible alternates that may exist, it assumes that it is right. As the American culture is seeking to revise its viewpoint to include all minorities, perhaps the NASW should attempt to include alternates to our Code so that all People may be heard.

Great work . . . As an M.S.W. I have found few and limited reviews on social tabboos and values that tie into every aspect of Native life. I find your work very interesting and just scrapping the ice . . . can it be possible to get a cultural breakdown of social tabboos and vaules?
